Nepal Banned Crypto-currency Websites and Applications
Infomail – Crypto-currency (virtual currency) websites such as Bitcoin, hyper networking, online gambling (betting) are not running in Nepal. The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) on Tuesday wrote a letter to Internet service providers instructing them to shut down any digital currency trading and networking websites and apps.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Ministry of Finance to completely annihilate the virtual currency, the authority has stated that such instructions have been given as per the letter to close such websites and apps.
The Authority has also been instructed to keep the use and operation of apps and websites related to such economic crimes prohibited, disabled, and blacklisted for immediate implementation.
